e was no longer part of Russian Empire. At this time Ukraine was growing as a culture fast. Ukraine became the biggest producer of wheat in Europe. But when Stalin became ruler of USSR, he decided to occupy Ukraine and introduced Collective farming . Collective farming is a system of agricultural organization in which farm laborers are not compensated via wages. Rather, the workers receive a share of the farm's net productivity.The political process of institutionalizing this aforementioned system is known as collectivization.

Farmers were protesting against collectivization. But Soviet army were making them to give up everything they have: wheat, tools, cows, even chicken. As soon there is no tools for work- there is no wheat, no wheat- no food for cattle, no cattle- no milk and meat. Due to these reasons people were starving. But this is was explanation to what happened to 10 million Ukrainians 20-30 years ago.

In present time, president of Ukraine Victor Ushenko decided to found out what happened in reality to Ukraine in 1932-33.
As said before, Ukraine was major producer of wheat in Europe. So, USSR decided to overrule Ukraine by killing all population. They almost succeed, they've killed quoter of population of Ukraine by man-made starvation.

The culture of Ukraine almost died, thats probably the reason why most of population speaking in Russian language, not Ukrainian.
Sometimes people don't consider this as a Genocide. Because soviet government was killing own people, but during WWII many Jewish people were killed in Germany. So, Nazis were killing their own people too.

This is one interesting topic. It's bad to have someone come in and control over your land. I also disagree with the "Collective Farming" system because it's not fair for those poor farmers at all. Why can't everybody just be equal and live without hurting others. 10 Million people is like 1/5 of their land..
